ESTELA – JALAPA TRAVERTINE

Estela is a sculptural lamp inspired by ancient Mexican stelae—monolithic stone pieces created by early pre-Hispanic civilizations to record their history. The lamp emits a soft, warm light, reminiscent of a torch glowing within a cave. Hand-carved from a single block of marble, its pristine exterior contrasts with the raw, unpolished interior, where the marks of the artisan’s tools remain visible.

SPEC SHEET

Esculpida con una precisión excepcional, la lámpara Estela se erige como un monolito alargado, casi solemne en su presencia. El desafío de encontrar bloques de piedra tan largos y perfectos asegura que cada lámpara sea una obra única de artesanía.

The Estela is hand-carved by expert stonemasons, exhibiting a duality between its pristine exterior and rough interior. The rough interior highlights the traces of the tools used to carve the stone.? Each lamp contains a narrative that speaks of the process behind its making. It is through this juxtaposition and contrast between the rough and the pristine that materials express their inherent language.
