Intervención/Intersección: MASA at Rockefeller Center

MASA brought a sweeping view of recent work by Mexican and Mexico-based artists, designers, and architects to three sites at Rockefeller Center. The show featured over 50 contemporary pieces alongside 20th-century works, challenging established narratives of Mexican design. It engaged critically with Mexican modernism while creating space for memory and intimacy.

“Intervención/Intersección” continued MASA’s focus on design at its edges, revealing hidden obsessions, private connections, and survival strategies behind creation. Drawing from the creative exchange between Mexico and the U.S., the exhibition questioned hierarchies between design, craft, and art, and between myth and its making—proposing a new, evolving canon rooted in both tradition and transformation.
