Elementos Vitales honored Ana Mendieta’s legacy by returning five of her iconic filmworks to Oaxaca, where they were originally made—including the first in her Silueta series, filmed at the Yagul archaeological site in 1974.
The exhibition also featured works by Frida Escobedo, Pia Camil, Solange Pessoa, Adeline de Monseignat, and EWE, who reflected on the traces we leave behind, just as Mendieta did. Their contributions, including gallery seating, formed an integral, tactile part of the experience.
