Collective/Collectible was MASA’s inaugural exhibition, bringing together one-of-a-kind works by artists, designers, and architects based in Mexico. The show challenged conventional boundaries between art and design, exploring identity, place, and belonging through material experimentation and conceptual inquiry.
Highlights included Frida Escobedo’s layered screen, EWE Studio’s bronze reinterpretation of milking stools, and Pedro Reyes’s terrazzo onyx chairs. The exhibition combined contemporary pieces with archival materials, creating a dialogue between past and present, and between local and global influences.
More than a survey of objects, Collective/Collectible offered a reflection on Mexico as an evolving space shaped by collaboration, migration, memory, and cultural exchange.
