We are pleased to share the latest addition to EWE’s Exhuma Collection: a custom mirror created for a residential project in New York City.
25 June, 2026
Measuring 86 cm wide by 96 cm high, this new piece is a smaller-scale adaptation of the original Exhuma Mirror, reimagined to respond to the proportions of its new setting while preserving the collection’s sculptural language and material presence.
First introduced at Les Ateliers Courbet as part of EWE’s debut solo exhibition in New York, Exhuma pays homage to pre-Hispanic innovation and Purépecha metallurgy.
The collection reinterprets ancestral casting methods developed by the Purépecha around 1450 AD, adapting these historic techniques into a contemporary sculptural language. Through this process, each piece preserves a direct connection to Mexico’s metallurgical legacy.
Following the same hand-crafted processes that define the collection, this custom edition carries the material depth, texture, and character of the original design, translated here into a new scale tailored to its setting.
With love,
EWE
