RECOVER / UNCOVER

Recover/Uncover was an exhibition that examined taxonomy as a system full of ambiguity, presenting newly commissioned works that challenged fixed categories. With unique and limited-edition pieces by artists and designers, MASA embraced contradiction as part of the continuous process of becoming and self-definition.

The show featured functional objects that blurred utility and concept: Milena Muzquiz’s overflowing vases, VIDIVIXI’s reflective room divider, and Tania Pérez Córdova’s poetic interplay of function and form. Works by Misha Kahn, Brian Thoreen, Héctor Esrawe, and others explored tension, mass, and modularity, revealing how design can hold multiple meanings at once.

Absence also took shape—through Perla Krauze’s recovered materials, Hollie Bowden’s void-centered bench, and Adeline de Monseignat’s stone seating. Recover/Uncover offered a spectrum of indeterminacy, proposing objects not as fixed types, but as tools for living, reflection, and transformation.
